After a year of living in Valencia, Spain, 4.5 months of which was spent quarantined and not working (but still getting paid, lucky me), I've been able to leave the country to travel to London to stay with my boyfriend for a month. The only unfortunate thing about leaving for London is the day before my flight, the U.K. announced new lock down measures for travelers from Spain. Anyone traveling from Spain to the U.K., no matter your nationality, would have to be quarantined for two weeks upon arrival. Even though Spain has been much better at handling the virus, recent weeks have seen a few spikes, and the U.K. decided it was better to be safe than sorry with any new arrivals. Incredibly, stupidly, the U.K. has been extremely lax on their virus response besides these new quarantine rules for Spain, and is encouraging its residents to eat out for half off prices Monday through Wednesday... in restaurants. Not sure how this will help combat the virus, but at least those who can already afford to eat out can now eat out for less at their own risk, to help stimulate the economy? From last summer in London, living free and easy ...Can see where Britain's priorities are. The pubs are open, restaurants are encouraging dining in now more than ever, and here I am stuck inside while all this fun is had outside.
Can't wait to get out of quarantine in a few days, into the corona virus fray.
